In the spotlight: Maren and Rogier on Chinese television!

TVstudios have something magical. But also something disturbing. Because what you say on camera is suddenly the truth. Because you said it! There’s no grey area, it’s black or white. Well, actually it is colour TV but that’s beside the point.

On a sunny afternoon in Shanghai we made our way to International Channel Shanghai (ICS) on walking distance of People’s Square. After the make-up lady powdered our noses, spiked up Rogier’s hair – and was not allowed to touch Maren’s hair – it was time to enter the recording studio.

We tried to put into our minds that this is just a regular talk about traveling. A host asks questions and we answer them. In theory that holds true, but when 6 large TV cameras are pointing at us – while sitting under the heat of the studio lamps – we realized that whatever we would say in the upcoming minutes, would be heard by a lot of people.

Please tune in to ICS channel on Sunday evening June 29th at 7.30pm Maren and Rogier

Nevertheless, we’re very pleased with the result, and the photos are promising. So please tune in to ICS channel on Sunday evening June 29th at 7.30pm to judge for yourself how we did. We’ll post the online version shortly after.
