After months of discussing, happy moments and frustration, time has really come to go ‘live’. After launching the website, facebook page, weibo account and updating our LinkedIn profiles it was time to face a real audience. On a Sunday afternoon in Shanghai, close to Yishan metro station, we met 200+ people that are travel enthusiasts, experts in travelling or, who knows, also future world explorers to listen to our travel experiences in the past and our big journey waiting ahead. The event was organized by 54 traveler, an enthusiastic online travel community in China, that organizes bi-weekly events for travellers to share their stories with a wider audience. We met at the Shanghai Mass Art Center, an excellent venue for a leisurely Sunday afternoon dreaming away with travel stories.
To ‘break the ice’, and as an audience warm-up, we started the event with a travel-quiz. Do you know if penguins live on the North or South Pole?

This one is easy actually… or when Marco Polo lived? The winner of the quiz received a nice pack of Dutch ‘Stroopwafels’, caramel waffles that everybody on the world appreciates (in our experience). After speaking about some of our most difficult, hilarious and unexpected travel moments, explaining about the journey we are going to make from China to Holland using Chinese brands only and sharing our trail-trip content we arrived at a very lively Q&A session with excellent questions and observations. Our personal favorite was: ‘So, you are using Chinese brands only right? Does that mean you will only eat Chinese food along the way?’
