As part of the ‘I am Brand New China’ series we met up with Jamie in Tashkent. Originally from Lanzhou, Gansu in China he has been teaching Chinese all over the world and stations himself at the moment for a period of three years in Tashkent.

A historian from background with a great array of knowledge about cultures, cities and history, is teaching at the Confucius Institute in the capital of Uzbekistan. ‘I would encourage everybody to travel’ he told us over a cup of tea next to Amir Timur square. ‘Travelling teaches you more than a 1000 books’ he continued and we could not agree more. Stay tuned to this website as we will soon be posting a summary of this fascinating day with this remarkable Chinese person.
