I never knew how much fun it is to design car stickers. Until I started designing our Brand New China car. It’s a work in progress and I’m not happy with it yet, but hereby a sneak preview. I can’t wait for the car to be delivered on July 19th, only 2 weeks left!
It’s actually quite hard to design a decent car sticker: It needs to follow the shapes of the car. It needs to contain the logo’s of our sponsors, partners and media. It needs to be directly clear what we’re doing. And we want it to contain an introduction of our journey in Chinese, English, Arabic and Russian, so that people along the way also know what on earth we’re doing.
Combine above points with the Chinese traffic police regulation that a maximum of 30% of the car may be covered with stickers, and you’ve got yourself a challenge. If there is any professional car sticker designer out there reading this: help us!
We decided to interpret the 30% rule in a flexible manner – cha bu duo, as the Chinese say. I mean, our “inspiration car” doesn’t follow that rule either, right?
